Kazakhstan increased production of ferroalloys 1.5 times to 230 th. tons

/IRBIS, Jan.14, 00/ - PRIME-TASS informs, with the reference to general director of JSC "Ferrochrome" Valeri Grinenko, that Kazakhstani enterprises produced more than 230 th. tons of commodity ferroalloys in 1999, which is 1.5 times more than in 1998. It is 52.6% growth in commodity output in comparable prices to the level of 1998 and almost 20% to 1995 - the most favorable for Kazakhstani metallurgical companies. Workers productivity rose 89.7% last year. The industry received about 1.5 bln tenge of income /1 dollar - 139 tenge/. He believes the production increases 50 th. tons in 2000 and costs will be cut down due to new technologies introduced last year.
