USD/KZT at the day closing - 139.44/54 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Jan.14, 00/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of the interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on January 14 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 139.44/54 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge decreased by 24 point against US dollar on demand and by 14 points on supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 139.36 (+0.16) tenge per dollar and closing quotations of 139.35/36. The dollar quotations at closing of the additional day session under the TOD accounts (3:00 p.m. Almaty time) have made 139.43/48 tenge for dollar. Dollar on evening trades by accounts TOM and SPT was not quoted. In the interbank market dollar quotations were less changeable today than in the previous days. At that they all day were above than Exchange's (both average weighted and closing). That testifies that the banks of the second tier have become more active in the interbank market than in the exchange one. The spreads increased from 6-8 points to 15 points during first half of the day, than they remained at the level of 10 points. All market indicators testify to continuation of dollar strengthening towards tenge on Monday.
