/IRBIS, Jan.13, 00/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of the interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on January 11 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 139.20/40 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge decreased by 1 point against US dollar on demand and by 11 points on supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 139.20 (+0.10) tenge per dollar and closing quotations of 139.19/20. Dollar quotations at closing of additional day session under the TOD accounts (3:00 p.m. Almaty time) have made 139.22/27 tenge for dollar. There were no dollar quotation on the evening trades under the TOM and SPT accounts. There was an significant growth of the dollar quotations in the interbank market in the second half of the day, but in the last trade hour the demand dollar price decreased practically to the previous level. At the same timethe supply price continued to grow. Such events can be explained by today's redemption of two issues of the National Bank notes to the sum of 2,042.8 billion tenges. After transfer of payment (usually the Central depositary make it at 3 p.m.), the banks liquidity jumped up, and it could provoke a growth of the dollar demand price. Probably, the banks did not get an appropriate dollar demand, therefore the quotations to the end of the day returned on the former level. Within all day spreads remained at the level of 5-6 points, but in the evening they increased to 20 points. This time it hardly testifies to the dealers uncertainty. Most likely, the participants hoped to use increased liquidity of their partners. As it was informed earlier, today the National Bank conducted auction on note-49 placement. The emitter did not manage to receive so big demand, as it was yesterday. Nevertheless, at expense of obligations yield growth, 323.4 million tenges were draw off from the exchange market. Thus it is possible to assume, that the dollar rate will continue the growth on the Friday's trades at the same speed at a medium trade volumes.
