growth in the exchange rate of the dollar, which, as usually, was more
noticeable on offer quotations. Maximum of spreads were fixed at 20 points
close to 4:00PM Almaty time. By closing of the market they went down to 8
points.
Based on the results of the poll held by REUTERS today, dealers differ from
each other in their opinions regarding further developments on the currency
market of the country in near term. Some traders expect "subsidence" of the
exchange rate, assuming inflow of exporters' earnings to KASE, while others
believe in further firming of the dollar after the holidays. All of them agree
on one thing: situation in the currency sector is under the control of the
country's head bank, which, in turn, will try to smooth erratic exchange rate
fluctuations.
After analyzing the current situation and objective market indicators IRBIS
analysts agreed that dollar is more likely to continue its growth at KASE
trades on Monday.
