In 1999 turnover of trades in foreign currency reached their record high - USD2,124.8 mln

/IRBIS, Jan.07, 00/ - In 1999, 38,069 deals were made in foreign currencies (with TOD terms, no deals were made with other terms) on trade floor of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) totaling to KZT269,043.3 mln or equivalent of USD2,124.8 mln. This is the record high turnover of the Exchange from the introduction year of Kazakhstani tenge. During the year trades were held with TOD terms in US dollars, Deutsche marks and euros. US dollar accounted for 99.6% of Exchange's total turnover. More detailed information is given in the table below.
