USD/KZT at closing of the day - 138.35/75 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Dec.29, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on December 29 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 138.35/75 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge lost 26 points against US dollar on demand and 58 points on supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 138.25 (+0.13) tenge per dollar and closing quotations - 138.24/25. At closing of additional day session with TOD terms and the evening trades with TOM and SPT terms dollar was not quoted. Today dollar quotations explicitly indicated firming of an American currency in interbank market. Only by the closing of the market price of the dollar went down a little both on demand and supply. Spreads began to grow from the closing of Exchange trades at 10 points and reached 40 points by the end of the day. Final quotations of interbank market show that today's firming will be temporary. Based on the results of KASE trades, banks of the second tier bought significant volumes of currency for recent times. Demand of the banks in the first trades of the next year could be low. The market situation should not change principally.
