Kazakhtelecom will lower some tariffs for international lines from 2000

/IRBIS, Dec.27, 99/ - REUTERS informs, with the reference to the
representative of the company, that from January 1, 2000 national
communication operator of Kazakhstan the company Kazakhtelecom intends
to lower the tariffs for some international lines by 28% - to $1.5 from current
$2.09.
"From January 1, 2000 we are lowering the tariffs for international calls in
the next directions: Kazakhstan-Great Britain, Kazakhstan-Germany,
Kazakhstan-USA, Kazakhstan-France. Customers will pay $1.5 including
VAT, as against current $2.09", said the representative of the Company.
Calls originated from universal pay phones made to any foreign countries
other than CIS are also expected to go down by 15%.
From December 25 to 31 telegrams and holiday cards can be sent to all CIS
countries with 50% discount.
