KASE: on dollar market - no significant changes

/IRBIS, Dec.24, 99/ - The morning trades in US dollar, Deutsche mark and Euro were held at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) with TOD payment terms. 15 banks participated in the trades. Today the trades in US dollars opened at 138.08 tenge per unit. Total of 64 deals were made. Weighted average dollar exchange rate equaled to 138.07 (-0.03) tenge per unit. Volume of the session - $1,845 mln (+$1,725 mln). Exchange rate fluctuation during the trade did not exceed 0.07%. The trades were closed at 138.07/09 tenge per dollar. The market got more alive today. It was mainly due to increased monopolization of the market: 78% of dollars was sold by one participant, and another one bought 60% of dollars. Other traders restricted themselves with symbolic amounts of deals. Throughout the session exchange rate of the dollar was inclined to fall, since the volume of currency supply could not be balanced by demand. One hour after closing of the morning session on interbank market of Kazakhstan dollar was quoted at 138.08/11 tenge per unit. Deutsche mark, morning session, TOD: no deals.
