USD/KZT at closing of the day - 138.08/13 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Dec.23, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on December 23 tenge quotations towards US dollar equaled 138.08/13 tenge per dollar. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge lost 3 points against US dollar on demand and 4 points on supply. In main (morning) session weighted average rate of the dollar with TOD terms equaled 138.10 (-0.15) tenge per dollar and closing quotations - 138.10/12. At closing of additional day session with TOD terms and the evening trades with TOM and SPT terms dollar was not quoted. Today dynamics of the dollar quotations in interbank market were relatively stable. No vivid trend was not observed. Quotation fluctuations did not exceed three points both on demand and supply. Spreads varied from 3 to 8 points. It is hard to make a certain forecast for the dynamics of the dollar on Friday's trades based on dollar's behavior in interbank market after the morning KASE session. The market is stable. Weighted average rate may deviate in both directions by 5-25 points. However, IRBIS analysts give preference to further firming of the tenge.
