As of December 19, 1999 net gold and foreign currency reserves of Kazakhstan reached $1.403 bln

/IRBIS, Dec.20, 99/ - The National Bank of Kazakhstan informs that gross gold and currency reserves of Kazakhstan reached $1,882.6 mln in current prices as of December 19, 1999 compared with $1,838.1 mln as of December 10, 1999. Net gold and currency reserves of Kazakhstan as of December 19 at $1,403.2 mln, $1,357.5 mln increase from December 10. National Bank informs that "$44.5 mln increase in international reserves was due to growth in currency reserves by $44.0 mln (mainly by purchases in domestic currency market) and gold reserves by $0.5 mln".
