Government of Kazakhstan allocates 61 mln dollars to buy grain from domestic agricultural producers

/IRBIS, Nov.30, 99/ - PRIME-TASS informs that the government of
Kazakhstan allocates 61 mln dollars to buy grain from domestic agricultural
producers, with the reference to the deputy minister of finance Bulat
Jamishev in Astana.
It is planned to buy about 870 thousand tons of grain through food
corporation. Now only 42 thousand tons were bought of this amount.
The president of the corporation, Nurlan Smagulov said, grain would be sold
for 70 dollars per ton based on GOST (standard) of 1990 and for 75 dollars
per ton for the grain of higher grade.
Kazakhstan have signed contracts with Russia and Iran to sell part of the
grain with the first tones to be shipped in a week. Iranian partners expressed
their interest in increasing purchasing volumes up to one million tons, "if
Kazakhstan proves to be a good seller", said the president of the
corporation.
