USD/KZT at closing of the day - 137.70/76 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Nov.26, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of interbank currency market of Kazakhstan on November 26 tenge quotations towards US dollar made 137.70/76 tenge per dollar with the Exchange's weighted average price of 137.67 (-0.11) and the quotations at closing of the Exchange's session of 137.68/69. Compared to the results of the previous day tenge gained 10 points on demand against US dollar and 14points on supply. Except for some decrease in the exchange rate of the dollar close to 15:00 Almaty time quotations of interbank market remained practically stable, which was very explicit on demand for an American currency. Today spreads shrank twice. Their lowest values were fixed by the closing of the market. Rates of interbank "overnight" deposits are at 1/3 APR. Banks do not seem to lack of funds. Probably, repayment of the remaining portion of government securities affecting the market today. Trade results of this week indicate prolonged nature of firming the tenge. this trend, most likely, will continue on trades on Monday. However, it is possible events in Russia could have a significant impact on Kazakhstani market.
