The dealers are the main dollar sellers on KASE

/IRBIS, Nov.23, 99/ - The Interrogation of the Kazakhstan currency dealers conducted by REUTERS on Tuesday has revealed, that the exporters remains the main dollar sellers on KASE despite of cancellation of the obligatory sale of half of export proceeds. The dealers approve that it is favorable to sell dollars on the Exchange because of a higher rate. In the dealers opinion, the rate is formed exclusively by the National Bank, which saves supports the dollar at the level of 10 -15 points higher of the interbank trades' level. In the IRBIS experts opinion, such tactics allows to the National Bank most effectively to enlarge the gold-currency reserves and to direct an essential share of deals in dollar to the Exchange. The dealers also approve that after the obligatory sale cancellation, volume of dollar transactions has considerably grown in the interbank market. "The Exchange does not determine now the market movement. More correct, it determines it only due to the National Bank presence. The quotations develop within a day on the interbank market", - the dealer of one from the Kazakhstan banks has told.
