Kazakhstan and ICF discuss the new three-year program

/IRBIS, Oct.21, 99/ According to REUTERS, which cites representative of the
government press service department, the Mission of International Monetary
Fund (ICF) meets today with Vice Prime Minister Erzhan Utembaev and
Minister of state revenues Zeinulla Kakimzhanov for discussion of the new
three-year crediting program. The parties have already agreed that
arrangement should be signed before the end of this year.
The former three-year $450 million crediting program was targeted to the
maintenance of foreign reserves of Kazakhstan, and was finished in July of
the current year. The new program plans granting of $400 million for the
same purposes.
ICF has approved the basic parameters of the budget-1999 of Kazakhstan,
however it is anxious about the overestimation of tax incomes, planned in the
budget-2000. Deficiency of the budget of the following year is planned to
reduce to 3.0% GDP from 3.6%.
