The new government of Kazakhstan will keep the macroeconomical policy

/IRBIS, Oct.19, 99/ REUTERS cites speech of Kacymzhomart Tokaev, the
new Prime Minister of Kazakhstan at the first session of the renewed
government.
"I officially confirm intention of the government to continue a way to the
macroeconomic stabilization. We are not going to bring any basic changes in
this policy", - Kacymzhomart Tokaev said.
The prime minister has informed, that the new program of the government
will be made in the frameworks of macroeconomic parameters, developed by
the previous government till 2002 and authorized by Parliament on
September 28.
This macroeconomic forecast, accepted by the deputies, assumes increase
of GDP to $14.2 billion from $13.6 billion in 2000; decrease of inflation in
2000 to 9.0%, in 2001 - to 5.9%, in 2002 - to 4.0%. Budget deficiency is
planned to lower to 3.0% of GDP in 2000, to 2.2% in 2001 and to 1.2% in
2002.
"The government announces the following priorities for forthcoming period:
the state budget, sector of real manufacture, population and social sphere,
financial sector ", - has told Tokaev.
"Speaking by simple language, the purposes of our macroeconomic policy
consist in the follows: first, the state should leaf within its means, our country
should sold abroad maximal, and bought as small as possible and, secondly,
import of the foreign currency should be maximum, and export - minimum ", -
he added.
