/IRBIS, Oct.11, 99/ - This week, for the firs time for 8 month, world prices of
oil were depressed by the stable increase of OPEC export.
On the London International Petroleum Exchange previous week was
finished by largest in the current year daily fall in prices - 6.3% to 20.70
dollars per barrel. Friday's fall on the New York Exchange was 6.9%.
According to ITAR TASS, which refer to the London business circles, the fall
in prices is a consequence of "excessive nervous reaction" of brokers on the
news that some countries, including OPEC members, in infringement of
before achieved agreements, begun to increase in September volumes of
export.
Iraq is the main object of OPEC criticism. Iraq did not sign the agreement
about joint actions for oil deliveries reduction and now increases its export.
Also there are data, that Norway, which did not become OPEC member,
expands oil production.
Meanwhile, according to some confidential messages appeared in London,
Saddam Husejn has directed the special message to the President of USA,
in which he has offered to cancel the U.N.O. sanctions against his country in
exchange for far-reaching political reforms.
