/IRBIS, Aug.24, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of over-the-counter
foreign exchange market of Kazakhstan on August 23 tenge quotations
towards US dollar have made 131.62 (demand) / 131.70 (supply) tenge per
dollar with the weighted average Exchange's price of 131.57 (-0.03) and the
quotes at closing of the Exchange's session of 131.63 / 131.64.
Based on dealers' over-the-counter market quotations, tenge gained 1 point
against American currency on demand and remained stable on supply.
At the end of the day dollar price was higher the weighted average on
demand by 5 points, and on supply by 13 points.
Spreads on the over-the-counter market varied from 1 to 10 points, 6 points
on average. They do not differ much from the spreads of previous days.
After the trades at the Exchange dollar quotations did not show any trends
while zigzagging a little above the closing rate of KASE. Passive quotation
work of the banks is worth mentioning today.
Tonight quotations for interbank "overnight" tenge deposits were fixed at 1
APR on demand and 7 APR on offer.
In general, stagnation and stability exist on the over-the-counter market.
Tomorrow one can hardly expect significant changes in exchange rate
dynamics.
