/KASE, May 4, 12/ - JSC "National Company "KazMunayGas" (Astana), whose bonds
are officially listed at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE
with the following press-release of May 4, 2012:

One of key factors of successful development of KMG group is a permanent
improvement of energy efficiency of the operations. Transition to an energy-
saving way of development is one of top priorities of KazMunayGas's long-term
strategy.
Purposeful work on improvement of energy efficiency is carried out on
enterprises of JSC "KazTransOil" (KTO) where the Target Energy-Saving has
been running since 2007, with the planning period of 3 years.
Under that program a row of projects are carried out, which allow a reduction in
consumption of electricity and heat. So, introduction of an Automated System of
Power Consumption Recording and Control allows a real time technical and
commercial recording of energy and control of its weighted consumption.
Analysis of those data allows maintaining economical modes of pipeline
operation and to timely take appropriate measures in case of their deviation
from the set parameters of power consumption. Introduction of the mentioned
system enables saving of up to 10% of the power consumed or around 40 m KWt/h
per annum. Another efficient power saving means is introduction of a
frequency-regulated drive of pump units which allows a 10-30% reduction in
power consumption.
