/KASE, April 26, 12/ - JSC "SevKazEnergo" (Petropavlovsk), whose bonds are officially listed at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following press-release: quote On April 20, 2012 First deputy prime-minister of Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov paid a visit to Petropavlovsk TEC-2 in the course of his business trip to North-Kazakhstan region Visiting of Petropavlovsk TEC-2 was one of items in the program of visits of regional industrial and agricultural enterprises performed by First deputy prime- minister of Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov. In the course of the visit Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "SEVKAZENERGO" Erkin Amirkhanov briefed the Prime-minister on the progress of the Company's investment programme scheduled for 2010-2015. It was pointed out that the company was planning to install three new turbines and one boiler unit at the station and complete a full reconstruction of four boiler units by 2015. In the course of the visit S. Akhmetov was shown the operation of modernized boiler unit No. 6 launched after a reconstruction in January 2012. After the full replacement of the heating surface, changing of the burning mode and installation of the ash-catching equipment, the steam output was increased from 220 to 270 tons of steam an hour. First prime-minister also inquired about the progress of installation of new boiler unit No. 8 manufactured at OJSC "Sibenergomash" (Barnaul, Russia), whose launch is scheduled for the second half-year of 2013. The cost of boiler unit No. 8 made up KZT1,790 bn, the overall cost of the project - KZT4,6 bn. Also the guests were briefed on the progress of modernization of boiler unit No. 7 supposed to be completed by the end of this year. As a result of "SEVKAZENERGO"'s investment program in accordance with the "Margin tariffs" it is expected the depreciation of the equipment will reduce from the current 70-75% to 40-45% by 2016. "After completing the entire modernization program, the quantity of boiler units will reach 12, instead of 11 currently operating, and the specified capacity of the station will go up by 78 MWt, from 357 MWt to 435 MWt. As a result of this program's implementation, the obsolete equipment will be upgraded to 35-40% by 2016", - pointed out Erkin Amirkhanov. Projects being implemented at Petropavlovsk TEC-2 are another evidence of a fair fulfillment of investment obligations of "SEVKAZENERGO" towards the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding modernization and upgrading of equipment, fixed assets, and improvement of environmental situation in the Company's operating zone.
