/IRBIS, 03.08.99/ - Based on the data of information system REUTERS, at the closing moment of overthecounter exchange market of Kazakhstan on August 03 the quotation of tenge to US dollar was 131,80 (demand) / 131,88 (supply) tenge for a dollar, with the weighted average price of the exchange 131,83 (-0,05) and quotations at closing of the exchange session of 131,84/131,86. Relative to closing of the previous working day, based on the dealers' quotations, tenge on demand for the American currency has become stronger by 14 points (0,14 tenge), on the supply - by 12 points (0,12 tenge). After the trades at KASE the quotations of dollar in the interbank market rejected yesterday's assumptions concerning possible strengthening of the American currency and confirmed the opposite tendency. The distinctive feature of the overthecounter market in the second half of the day consists of passive quoting by dollar participants: the quotations practically remained stable and no tendency was observed in their dynamics, which is a little unusual. It is essential, that the market of a day closed at a level of the exchange: at demand the price of a dollar at 18:00 Almaty time has appeared to be 2 points below the weighted average market rate, and at supply - by 3 points higher. There still exist some free reserves in the market, according to the quotations of the interbank "overnight" tenge deposits (1 for 4 annuals). The forecast from IRBIS for Wednesday: tenge has more chances to become stronger, rather than to weaken.
