Value of the subsistence minimum amounted to KZT 15,619 in Kazakhstan in December 2011

/IRBIS, January 4, 2012/ - Subsistence minimum in December 2011
amounted to 15,619 tenge, was indicated in the message released
today by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics.
The subsistence minimum in the average per capita, calculated on the
basis of the minimum standards of consumption of basic foodstuffs, in
December 2011 compared to the previous month increased by 1%,
December 2010 -by 13.8%.
In its structure the share of the cost of meat and fish was 23.2%, milk,
fat and oil products and eggs - 16.7%, fruits and vegetables - 9.6%,
bread and cereal products - 8.2%, sugar, tea and spices - 2.3%.

Living wage is necessary minimum monetary income per person, equal in magnitude
to the value of the minimum consumer basket. Minimum consumption basket is a
minimum set of food, goods and services needed for human life in physical and
value terms. It consists of a food basket and a fixed percentage of expenditure on
non-food goods and paid services. The share of the minimum required non-food goods
and services to calculate the subsistence level set at 40 per cent of the value of
the minimum consumer basket.
