Stock indexes of emerging markets on Wednesday
closed the day with mixed changes. Support was
provided by investors' expectations for the forthcoming
summit of EU leaders December 08/09, investors hope
that on this meeting concrete and effective measures to
tackle the crisis in the region will be taken. Before the
summit, the leaders of France and Germany have
agreed on concerted measures for the adoption of
structural reforms in Europe, in particular, the provision
that countries with high budget deficit will be
automatically sanctioned.
Pressure was put by the message, citing to unnamed
sources within the German government, that Berlin
opposed the merger of the European Foundation for
financial stability and the European mechanism of
stability. It is reported that Germany adheres to the
compliance of agreements, under which, after the
exhaustion of the resources of the European Financial
Stability Fund permanent mechanism for European
stability will be launched.
