Indices of stock markets of developing countries on
Monday continued to decline under the pressure of
negative external background. MSCI Emerging Markets
Index has shown the biggest drop since March 2009.
Recall, on the eve of Friday, after the markets closure, the
international rating agency Standard & Poor's lowered
long-term credit rating of the United States from the
highest of AAA to AA +. So now the U.S. government
bonds are less reliable than the bonds of the UK,
Germany, France or Canada. Analysts of Standard &
Poor's established rating outlook of the U.S. as
"negative", which means the probability of a new
downgrade in the next 1-1.5 years. Additional pressure
has had a message that the S & P also downgraded from
AAA to AA + long-term credit ratings of several major U.S.
financial companies, whose activities are directly
dependent on the situation of the country's government
bonds. The outlook on all ratings is "negative". Some of
these companies include Federal Home Loan Banks,
Farm Credit System Banks, Fannie Mae and Freddie
Mac.
