The net profit of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" National Company" JCS in the first half of 2011 increased by 39%

/IRBIS, July 29, 2011/ - In JSC "National company "Kazakhstan
Temir Zholy" meeting was held on the basis of the railway in the first
half and goals by the end of 2011, was stated in the report released
today by the company.
As indicated, all major indicators of the company during this period
have been made, the tasks were successfully solved.
Operating freight turnover on railways since the beginning of the year
with the plan of 103.54 billion ton-km totaled 105.25 billion ton-km
net. For the same period in 2010 this figure was exceeded by 2.32
billion net ton-kilometers, or 2.3%. Passenger for the first half
recorded at more than 6.5 billion p-km, which is 5.1% higher than for
same period of 2010.
It was indicated that, compared with last year were improved key
indicators in the field of traffic safety. Was decreased the total
number of cases of flaws compared to the same period last year to
23%, on special occasions of flaw - 50%.
In the first half of 2011 performance schedule of trains improved by
40%.
Net income received by the first half amounted to 57 billion tenge,
which is 39% higher than the same period of 2010.
In the period under review the company realized capital investments
of 7% over the first half of 2010.
"Most of the investments was aimed at implementing the important
from the perspective of development projects for the future". The
company currently is building two new railways. In 2011 it will be
opened to traffic on the road trains Uzen-state border with
Turkmenistan, in December - on the line Zhetygen-Korgas", - was
stated in the message.
"As part of GPFIIR creation of new and development of existing
production facilities in the railway engineering industry is continued.
So, this year in Ekibastuz, Pavlodar region a plant for production of
freight cars with capacity of more than 3 thousand units per year has
been launched. By the end of the year in Astana, the plant will work
for the production of passenger cars in 2012 - electric locomotives for
freight and passenger traffic. Implemented measures will consistently
fully solve the problem of shortage of new rolling stock from its own
resources. Cargo fleet during the current year will be replenished by
8,500 cars. Kazakhstani share in the projects implemented by the
company will amount 83% in 2011", - the company said.
It was stated that currently is deployed a project to build 100 new
station buildings. New coaches began to ply in the train "Caspian" on
the route of the Atyrau-Astana, luxury trains from Almaty to Atyrau,
Aktobe and Shymkent.
"On behalf of the Head of State in September 2011 will start third
medical train "Salamatty Kazakhstan", equipped with the latest
medical science, including telemedicine", - says the statement.
