Indices of stock markets in developing countries, on
Wednesday demonstrated opposite changes in the backdrop
of rising oil prices, as well as pressure put by concern about
the budget crisis in Europe. In addition, investors continued to
worry about probability of slowing global economic recovery
against the backdrop of tightening monetary policy by
governments of countries in developing regions. In particular,
Standard & Poor's points out that the policy tightening by the
Chinese authorities has a negative impact on profits of
Chinese banks in the coming years. Standard & Poor's
expects that against this backdrop the profitability of Chinese
banks may drop to the end of 2011 and continue falling in the
next two years, despite the strong recovery in 2010 and the
absence of a decline in the first quarter of this year.
