National Company KazMunayGaz (Kazakhstan) announces preliminary operating results for Y2011 Q1

/KASE, May 11, 11/ - National Company KazMunayGaz (Astana), whose bonds are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following press-release of May 11, 2011: quote NC KazMunayGaz (NC KMG) reports on preliminary operating and financial results for the 1st quarter 2011. Operational data say that the consolidated volume of oil and gas produced in the reported period made up 5.4 m tons, which is by 2 percent more than in 2010. 16.4 m tons of oil were transported via main pipelines. 2 m tons of oil were transported over sea increasing by 11 percent. Turnover of oil through main pipelines made up 10.8 bn ton/km exceeding by 9% the year 2010. Over 25.5 bn cubic metres of gas were transported in the reported period which is 1 percent more than in the 1st quarter 2010. In March-January 2011 the NC KMG group (including The Rompetrol Group) processed 3.6 m tons of oil. According to preliminary unaudited data, NC KMG's consolidated revenue made up KZT621 bn in the first quarter 2011 - an 18 percent rise upon 2010. Consolidated income made up KZT118 bn, which by 78 percent exceeds the corresponding figure from 2010. Taxes and other mandatory payments exceeded KZT111 bn, a 9 percent rise upon 2010. As of April 1, 2011 the total procurement volume across the NC KMG group made up KZT951 bn, with Kazakhstan-made content equaling to 38%, or KZT362.5 bn. In the total volume of goods purchased (KZT587 bn), the share of local suppliers made up KZT171 bn, or 29 percent of Kazakhstan-made content. The total volume of job contracts concluded equaled KZT121 bn, with Kazakhstan-made content as high as 67% (KZT81.5 bn). Overall, services worth KZT243.6 bn were purchased, including KZT110.4 bn worth jobs sourced locally. Kazakhstan share in services procured made up 45 percent.
