/IRBIS, February 16, 2011/ - Net capital inflows to the U.S. in December
2010 totaled $48.2 billion reported in the media, published Feb. 15 by the
Ministry of Finance (United States Department of the Treasury).
In November 2010, a net inflow of capital into the U.S., according to revised
data, totaled $ 35.6 billion previously reported that the figure reached $ 39
billion
In December 2010, net foreign purchases of long-term U.S. securities totaled
$76.8 billion (in November 2010 this figure was recorded at $ 93.8 billion).
For Sale by foreigners of U.S. short-term securities and other liabilities
totaled $47.8 billion (previous month was recorded sales of $40.5 billion). A
capital inflow, formed from the difference-owned U.S. and foreign banks and
all liability, up to December 2010 amounted to $54.2 billion (previous month
was recorded inflows of $11.6 billion).
