BTA Securities (BTA Securities, Almaty) has provided IRBIS with a survey
of main events, Forecasts and Investment ideas for January 26, 2011.
According to the report, analysts note that the premarket on world
markets is composed as follows:
- Trading in Asia today is in a mixed way. Hang-Seng and Nikkei down today
at a moderate pace in response to negative news from Europe and the
USA. Asians react to poor statistics on UK GDP for 4 quarter 2011, the
dynamics of property prices in the U.S. and negative corporate
performance of U.S. companies. Shanghai index today goes against the
market, adding 0.5%, in response to speculation that the recent losses of
the index were excessive, given the quite optimistic growth prospects of
corporate profits.
- The euro/dollar today adds, but the weak rates, trading at levels above
1.368. Players expect tomorrow's positive statistics for the euro area index
of economic confidence. Indicator of sentiment, according to forecasts of
economists, is to grow the eighth consecutive month. U.S. reacts
negatively to the proposal of the U.S. president, Mr. Obama, of reductions
in government spending unrelated to defense, making it possible to save
the country $ 400 billion over the next 10 years.
- Oil prices are now being restored as part of correction after two-day slide.
Quotations are under pressure from fears that oil demand could weaken.
Copper prices recovered today on the opinion of the players that the recent
drop in prices has been excessive, given the expected in this year's deficit
of metal on the market. In electronic trading in London the price of the "red
metal" grow by 1%.
- Trading in Europe on Wednesday will likely be held in a neutral manner.
Growing Chinese market and the prices of basic metals today can support
the share prices of commodity companies.
- The U.S. session dynamics of the market will determine the following
events: financial results Xerox, Boeing, Conocophilips, as well as statistics
on U.S. sales of new homes.
