Astana will set up a reserve center National Bank of Kazakhstan
/IRBIS, January 20, 2011/ - In Astana will set up a reserve center of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, announced today the Vice-Chairman of the National Bank Mr. Bisengali Tadzhiyakov at a roundtable on the state and prospects of development of cashless payment in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Majilis.
He pointed out that the establishment of a new reserve center is to ensure the reliability of the payment system.
The aim of the project - ensuring the smooth functioning of the payment system in the event of an emergency of any nature in location of main center, including as a result of the strong earthquake in Almaty city.
He noted that the development of payment system in Kazakhstan has a tendency to dynamic growth. According to Mr. B. Tadzhiyakov, over the past 5 years the volume of payments that have passed through the payment system, have grown by 22 times, and their numbers - in 1.2 times. In 2010, through the payment system carried 300 million transactions amounting to 188 trillion KZT or $1.3 trillion. U.S.
