Kazatomprom plans to produce in the second half of year 9.7 tons of uranium

/IRBIS, September 29, 2010/ - JSC National Atomic Company Kazatomprom plans to produce in the second half of 9.7 tons of uranium, announced on Sept. 28 press office. The report said that according to the corrected plans, mining of uranium in the second half of 2010 will amount to 9,770 tons. According to the company, the volume of uranium production in Kazakhstan in the first half of 2010 amounted to 8,452 tons, up 42% over the same period last year. Total revenues of JSC Kazatomprom for the first half of 2010 increased by 58% over the same period in 2009. This increase in revenues (almost 2-fold) due to growth in sales volume of uranium production. Net income for the first 6 months of the year also increased by 64% over the same period last year.
