Products of Ulbin Metallurgical Plant (Kazakhstan) certified to supply into the Japanese market

/IRBIS, July 15, 2010/ - In Almaty, between Ulbin Metallurgical Plant which is a
subsidiary of JSC National Atomic Company Kazatomprom, and Japanese
company Nuclear Fuel Industries Ltd. (NFI) have been signed the document
specifying the conditions for implementing agreements the production of
components of nuclear fuel for the Japanese market. It was informed on July 14
press-service of JSC Kazatomprom.
It is indicated that delivery of the first party linked to the end of the process
of ratification of the intergovernmental agreement between Japan and Kazakhstan on
cooperation in peaceful uses of atomic energy, which is known, was signed in
Tokyo in March this year.
The same company has implemented NFI certified uranium dioxide powder
produced by UMP for Japanese nuclear power plant. The completion certificate will
UMP move to the practical implementation of the project for the supply of nuclear
fuel components for the Japanese market.
