/IRBIS, June 14, 2010/ - Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev President of Kazakhstan
met with Mr. Hu Jintao Presidentof China, who arrived in Kazakhstan with a
state visit, informed on June 12 by presidential press service of Kazakhstan.
As indicated, after the official welcoming ceremony in Akorda held talks
Heads of States in the narrow and enlarged group. Mr. Nursultan
Nazarbayev and Mr. Hu Jintao have discussed a wide range of issues of
bilateral cooperation.
"An important topic of the talks was economic cooperation, which has
reached the level of practical implementation of the largest and strategically
important projects in the economic sphere. Already have operating gas
pipeline of Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kazakhstan - China and the oil
pipeline Kenkiyak-Kumkol. Currently, a large part of the oil that the total
volume of oil extracted in Kazakhstan with the participation of Chinese
companies ", - stated in the message.
As noted in the report, under the agreements reached during the visit of Mr.
Nursultan Nazarbayev in Beijing in April 2009, Kazakhstan has successfully
implemented large-scale infrastructure projects - construction of
hydroelectric Moinak, Pavlodar electrolysis plant, plant for the production of
road bitumen in Aktau , a complex for production of aromatic hydrocarbons
in the Atyrau refinery, upgrading and reconstruction of refineries
PetroKazakhstan Oil Products, the construction of the first phase of the
largest gas-chemical complex to produce polypropylene in Kazakhstan.
During the talks the sides discussed measures to enhance trade, whose
volume last year reached $14 billion
"Our trade in the first quarter of this year grew by 56 percent. We're going to
make to reach pre-crisis period, our trade, that is, over 17 billion dollars" -
are in the message words of Mr. Nazarbayev.
As indicated, the parties agreed to deepen economic and investment
cooperation, to expand the structure of mutual trade. Kazakhstan, China to
strengthen cooperation in energy, peaceful uses of atomic energy,
petrochemicals, transportation, agriculture, development of border trade, as
well as in the supply of Kazakh grain and other agricultural products in
China. Constructively address issues of rational use and protection of
transponder water resources.
During the visit, was adopted a Joint Communique of the Republic of
Kazakhstan and Republic of China. The sides have signed
intergovernmental agreements on the peaceful uses of atomic energy, the
basic principles of design, financing, construction and operation of the
second part of the pipeline, Kazakhstan - China as well as an agreement
between JSC NAK Kazatomprom and China Guangdong Nuclear Power
Corporation of sale of uranium concentrates.
