/IRBIS, June 1, 2010/ - Living wage in May, 2010 amounted to KZT13,073 - it's
indicated in the issued reported by the Statistics Agency of the Republic of
Kazakhstan on May 1, 2010.
Living wage, on average, per capita, calculated on the basis of minimum
standards of consumption of basic foodstuffs, in May 2010 compared with the
previous month increased by 1.4% and by 4.0% in May 2009.
In its structure the share of the cost of meat and fish held 20.0%, milk, oil and
fat products and eggs - 16.3%, fruit and vegetables by 12.0%, cereal and
cereal products by 8.8%, sugar, tea and spices on 2.9%.

Living wage is necessary minimum monetary income per person, equal in magnitude to
the value of the minimum consumer basket. Minimum consumption basket is a minimum
set of food, goods and services needed for human life in physical and value terms.
It consists of a food basket and a fixed percentage of expenditure on non-food
goods and paid services. The share of the minimum required non-food goods and
services to calculate the subsistence level set at 40 per cent of the value of the
minimum consumer basket.
