WorleyParsons has signed a new contract for preliminary engineering for the second phase of the development of the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan

/IRBIS, April 15, 2010/ - WorleyParsons, in collaboration with CB & I and Aker
Solutions, received a contract renewal for preliminary engineering and design
services with Shell Development Kashagan BV for the second phase of the full
development of the Kashagan field in Kazakhstan. This was reported on April 14
by WorleyParsons.
It is indicated that the new contract replaces the previously concluded
contracts with Agip KCO on January 16, 2009. The expected revenue under the
contract amounts to 170 million pounds.
As indicated, in accordance with the new operating model, consistent with the
Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, North Caspian Operating Company
BV has been delegated responsibilities of the operator for the North-Caspian
Production Sharing Agreement of Agip KCO. Shell Development Kashagan, agent
North Caspian Operating, have a common land and sea preliminary exploration
for the development of the second phase of the Kashagan project.
The contract includes work on preliminary engineering and design of both
onshore and offshore facilities and pipelines. Contract It also includes options
for the preliminary work, detailed design, procurement services, technical
assistance and design / system integrity.
Work on the project began in November 2008 and is expected to be completed in
2011.
