Currency traded value falls 16.1 %, reaches KZT2.7 trln (USD18.3 bn)
/KASE, April 5, 10/ - in the first three months of Y2010 currency traded value on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency swaps transactions, reached KZT2,705.6 bn (USD18,322.1 m) and fell against the same period of the last year 16.1 % (21.8 % in dollar terms).
As compared to the previous three-month period (October-December Y2009) traded value dropped 8.2 % (7.0 % in dollar terms).

Weighted average tenge rate calculated on all deals in the morning (main) trading session in the period March 1, 10 through March 31, 10, reached KZT147.10 a dollar, on all exchange deals - KZT147.68 a dollar.
The tenge strengthened against the dollar 3.98 % APR. During the first three months of Y2010 the tenge revalued to the dollar in nominal terms 1.00 %.
In 2009 the tenge devalued to the dollar in the nominal terms 22.91 %, in Y2008 - 0.41 %.
