According to AFS, Kazakhstan net pension assets reach KTZ 1,860.5 billion ($ 12.5 billion) as of January 1, 2010
/IRBIS, January 22, 2010/ - According to the data of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Market and Financial Organizations (AFS), the total amount of net pension assets (PA) in the republic (total pension assets excluding obligations on charged commission interests, creditors' debts on pension payments) as of January 1, 2010 reached KTZ 1,860.5 billion. (or equivalent of $ 12 532,1 million at the weighted average exchange rate effective on the mentioned date). Corresponding indicator as of December 1, 2009 is KTZ 1,824. billion or $ 12,270.2 million.
In December, 2009 net assets of accumulative pension funds (APF) grew by 2.0% (by 2.1 % in dollar terms) relative to the previous month.
As of the beginning of January 2010, the total sum of pension assets made KZT 1,860.8 bn., of which KZT 1,839.6 bn. were invested.
During December 2009, there were four specialized organizations carrying out pension assets investment management activity (PAIMO) and 14 APF. Ten funds - Accumulative pension fund of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, APF SAPF JSC, SB JSC Bank TuranAlem JSC, APF BTA Kazakhstan JSC, APF Capital JSC, APF Kazakhmys JSC, OAPF Otan JSC, OAPF AMANAT- KAZAKHSTAN JSC, APF NefteGas-Dem JSC, APF REPUBLIC JSC and Eurasian accumulated pension fund JSC which actually were PAIMO as well, pension assets were controlled independently. Share of PA, which was controlled by these funds, totaled 76.8 % out of the entire amount of PA of the republic, by the beginning of January, 2010 (as at December 1, 2009 - 77.0 %).
The table below presents volumes of assets of each fund (KZT m., unless otherwise indicated) and distribution of APF assets by PAIMO as of January 1, 2010. Figures in parentheses give the same picture as of December 1, 2009.

The biggest APF by the end of January 2010 from the viewpoint of net PA volume (in descending order of PA amount): APF National Saving Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, APF SAPF JSC and APF Ular Ymit JSC.
By the volume of the managed assets APF National Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC is still leading (30.1% of all PA in management). The second place belongs to APF SAPF JSC (15.8%), the third place- APF Ular Umit JSC (13.1%).
The highest asset growth rate in December, 2009 was recorded in APF REPUBLIC JSC (KTZ 6.8 %). In absolute monetary terms on the biggest amount of asset growth the leader is APF National Saving Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (growth by KZT 11,474.3 m.). The second place by this indicator belongs to APF Ular Umit JSC (by KZT 8,507.9 m.) and the third place belongs to APF SAPF JSC (growth by KZT 2,886.5 m.).
