/IRBIS, December 25, 09/ - In the U.S., the number of initial applications for
unemployment insurance for the week that ended Dec. 19, 2009, compared with
that of the previous week declined by 28,000 and reached 452,000. Such data
released December 24 U.S. Department of Labor.
During the week that ended Dec. 12, 2009, the number of initial applications for
unemployment insurance totaled 480,000.
The average number of initial applications for unemployment insurance in the
United States for four weeks (on 19 December 2009) amounted to 465,250,
dropped to 2,750, compared with the previous four-week period, recorded at
468,000.
