/KASE, December 23, 09/ - The Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) formed
groups of liquid and illiquid shares of those listing on the exchange.
The groups were formed to apply norms of KASE normative document
"Regulations on Trade and Confirmation System Operation" (the Regulations).
In accordance with the Regulations beginning January 1, 2010 KASE will hold
trade in illiquid shares on business days from 15:00 p.m. through 17:00 p.m.
Almaty time, liquid shares - from 11:30 a.m. through 17:00 p.m. Almaty time.
Uninterrupted counter-directed share trading will be switched to standby-mode in
case of marching and crossing of bids and asks with price of a proposed deal
deviating from the last transaction price of such shares 10 % in liquid shares
and 5 % in illiquid shares.
To form these lists in accordance with the Methodology for Securities Liquidity
Indicator Determination (the Methodology):
- Share liquidity indicators were calculated for periods June 1 through August
31 and September 1 through November 30, 2009;
- The KASE Board on December 14, 2009 set a threshold share liquidity value
at level of 0.3.
The liquid share list includes shares, liquidity values of which for both
periods equal or exceed the threshold value.
In accordance with item 16 of the Methodology the KASE Board deemed as liquid
common shares KZ1C34920013 ("Unlisted securities", BTAS) of BTA Bank.
Below are the lists of liquid and illiquid shares effective in Q1 2010. In
accordance with the Methodology lists of liquid and illiquid shares will be
revised on a quarterly basis.
