EU imposes anti-dumping tariffs on aluminum from China, Brazil and Armenia

/IRBIS, September 25, 09/ - The European Union on September 24, 2009 decided to impose a term of 5 years anti-dumping tariffs on aluminum foil from China, Brazil and Armenia, as well as for steel from China, reported on September 24, the Chinese Xinhua news agency. According to the agency, the tax rate on manufactured in China seamless steel tubes and aluminum foil will amount to 39.2 % and 30 % respectively. Tax rates on the production of aluminum foil by Brazil and Armenia, would amount to 17.6 % and 13.4 % respectively. This decision will come into force from the date of its publication in print at October 8, 2009. According to Bloomberg, the combined share of China, Brazil and Armenia on the aluminum market, the EU has increased to 49 % in the 12 months to June 2008. [2009-09-25]
