BTA Bank (Kazakhstan) disburses 90 % of funds within program for support and development of small and middle businesses in Mangistau oblast

/KASE, April 23, 09/ - BTA Bank (Almaty), securities of which are listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided KASE with a press release dated April 22, 2009: Quotaiton beginning BTA Bank as on April 20, 2009 disbursed KZT18.98 bn. (592 projects), which is 86.3% of funds allocated by National wellbeing fund Samruk-Kazyna, which were presented as the government took steps to fight the crisis, boost economy and support small and middle businesses. In particular, Mangistau branch of the bank disbursed KZT0.7 bn. (27 projects) or 89.7% of funds allocated to the branch, which helped to finance 12 projects for the amount KZT0.18 bn. and approve for issue KZT0.52 bn. in 15 projects. This was announced today at the meeting of BTA Bank chairman Anvar Saydenov with Mangistau oblast mayor K. Kusherbaev and the business elite of the region. "BTA Bank was selected as the main distributor of funds within the state progam for support of small and middle businesses. According to the General agreement between National wellbeing fund Samruk-Kazyna, BTA Bank and Fund DAMU, the bank received KZT22 bn., which wil be used to finance new projects and refinance former loans", - A. Saydenov informed. Within the frames of this meeting another Agreement of refinancing of a loan from the funds of Fund DAMU was signed with Bek Trans LLP, which has been a client of BTA Bank since 2002. The total credit line sum is KZT241 m., financing term - up to 84 months, interest rate 11.6-12.5 % APR. During the visit to Mangistau region A. Saydenov as well met with other companies - large clients of the bank, in particular with MAEK Kazatomprom LLP, Prikaspiyskiy Mashinostroitelniy Complex LLP, Karazhanbasmunai JSC. Meanwhile in the period January 1, 2008 through March 1, 2009 BTA Bank increased small and middle business crediting market share in the republic from 17.6 % through 18.4 %, including in Mangistau oblast - by 1.64 %, reaching 10.76 %. Small and middle business portfolio of the bank as on April 20, 2009 is KZT221.3 bn., of which in Mangistau branch - KZT7.4 bn. Today BTA Bank is servicing over 52,000 clients - small and middle businesses, of which in Mangistau branch - over 2,200 clients. At that, the total of borrowers is 13,000, of which in Mnagistau branch - 498.
