The head of the state fund - Samruk-Kazyna may leave capitals of BTA Bank and Alliance Bank

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, February 2, 09/ - National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna may leave capitals of BTA Bank and Alliance Bank, when situation become stable, Kairat Kelimbetov, the head of the state fund said. "We plan when banks become stable, we will be leaving their capital during 5 year period" - he informed journalists on Monday in Astana after the Government session on its entering the capital of the mentioned banks. The head of the Ministry of Finance Bolat Zhamishev, in turn, noted that this gained control over BTA Bank and Alliance Bank was the forced measure. "For Government it will be the optimal way if current shareholders coped with situation. But as they couldn't, the Government was forced to take these measures, in compliance with the Law. If so, it will be inappropriate to talk about raid" - he stressed. Earlier, on Monday the head of the Board of directors of BTA Bank Mukhtar Ablyazov announced that the Government gets the total control over the bank and called it as "tyranny and government raid". "Government's activity tells about economic incompetence and political short sight of administrators" - M. Ablyazov message says. Later, on the Government session, the Prim-Minister Karim Masimov said that M. Ablyazov was removed from its duties. Meanwhile, the head of Financial Supervision (AFS) Elena Bakhmutova said to journalists that "in compliance with AFS information, Mr. Ablyazov is no more the owner of 10 % and more shares of BTA Bank". "Moreover, based on his application, he makes no influence on the bank, except his duty - the Chairman of the Board of directors" - she stressed. "It is not a raid, as all action were made within the current Legislation and admitted by corresponding results of audit. The bank will continue operate in a standard mode. All other shareholders retained their amount of shares and will continue participating in bank's management" - E.
