Today domestic currency market situation remained unchanged. Most trade participants go on opening long positions on USD, estimating tenge perspective as being weak.
At the same time only sharp lack of tenge liquidity can explain the gradual upward dynamic of USD. Yesterday one-day repo rates again grew up to 13.7 % APR and KazPrime indicator renewed its historical maximum, making 12.50 % APR. Meanwhile, in our opinion, one of the main sources of liquidity for market participants is still repo transactions. Yesterday volume of borrowing through these transactions grew to KZT67.4 bn. with regulating body significant share.
The dollar was quoted at 121.31/121.34 at the KASE day session at 12:10 p.m.; no deals were concluded. The dollar was quoted at 121.32/121.35 on over-the-counter.
