Government approves draft law on National welfare fund SamrukKazyna

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, December 9, 08/ - The Government of Kazakhstan approved the draft law "On National Welfare Fund SamrukKazyna" at the session on Tuesday, the reporter of Interfax- Kazakhstan informed. This document will be represented to Parliament deputies. "The draft law defines features of the status, organization and activities of the fund, the subject and objectives of these activities are governed and aimed at carrying out tasks to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the national economy and prevent possible adverse effects of changes on the world markets on economic growth in the country" - the Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov said, while presenting the document. "The draft law provides a range of innovations aimed at efficient management of various assets and properties as well as it is a priority right of the fund for purchasing strategic objects, alienable by the owners by the decision of the Government and the range of other norms" the Minister said. The National welfare fund SamrukKazyna - is a state holding company, possessing and managing the national companies in various economy sectors, including oil and gas, telecommunication, transport and national development institutions. The National welfare fund SamrukKazyna JSC was created in October, 2008 through a merger of Kazakhstan holding on State assets management Samruk and State fund of sustainable development Kazyna.
