/REUTERS, Almaty, September 12, 2008/ - Output of copper in Kazakhstan within the period of January - August of 2008 decreased by 6.3 %, compared to the similar period of the previous year, to 252.835 tones, the Statistics Agency informed.

Non-processed zinc production within the same period increased by 1.9 % to 244.248 tons. Production of alumina increased by 11.4 % and made 1.137 m. tons.
