Nearest oil futures prices increased by 3.38% - 3.67% on the major world trading floors
/IRBIS, Dinara Mukasheva, May 4, 08/ - By the results of trades of May 2 of the current year:
- on NYMEX (New York) the price of Light Sweet Crude Oil mixture with delivery in June 2008 increased by 3.38% to $116.32 per barrel;
- on ICE (London) price of June Brent Forties Oseburg futures increased by 3.67% to $114.56 per barrel
During the second half of last week oil market was under the influence of the appreciated US dollar. According to the results of Friday, dollar grew higher than $1.55 per euro. On the whole, the world exchange floors ended the week positively. However, oil quotations growth by the end of the week indicates that positions of speculators skeptically evaluating the current US dollar rate are still strong on the market.
