Negotiations about increase of stake of Kazakhstan in Kashagan are prolonged

/REUTERS, Astana, Raushan Nurshayeva, December 21, 07/ - Negotiations of consortium of investors, developing the Kashaganskoye oil-gas field and powers of Kazakhstan, claiming increase of stake in the project, were prolonged for indefinite term, told to Reuters the source close to negotiations. "Was signed the next memorandum, it is intermediate. That is, negotiations are prolonged. It is yet unknown to which time", - he told. Earlier the sides announced, that are planning to finish negotiations till December 20. Powers of Kazakhstan blamed western investors of Kashagan in head of Italian ENI in abortion of terms and estimate while developing of giant field, claiming compensation and also endowing of state company Kazmunaygas with status of second leader of the project. All members of consortium, except American Exxon Mobil, were agree to increase stake of Kazakhstan oil company. Earlier the source informed to Reuters that Kazakhstan claims from foreign consortium more than $7 bn. as compensation for delay. To the staff of consortium headed by Eni are included Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobil and Total, to which belong 18.5% of shares to each, ConocoPhillips with 9.3% and Japanese Inpex and Kazmunaygas owing with 8.3% each.
