/INTERFAX-UKRAINE, Kiev, June 1, 07/ - Shareholders of BTA Bank (Kiev) on the meeting this week had selected Mukhtar Ablyazov, taking the post of chairman of board of directors of Kazakhstan bank TuranAlem, as the new chairman of observation council of credit organization, is informed in the press-release of BTA Bank.

Earlier the observation council of BTA Bank was headed by Konstantin Kolpakov.

Shareholders on the meeting had also included Mukhametkali Ospanov into staff of council. Number of members of the council makes 5 persons.

Observation council on the meeting this week had appointed Zhomart Yertayev instead of Oleg Tsurkan as chairman of board of credit organization and Alexey Ageyev - his first deputy.

In the message it is noted that O.Tsurkan is exempted from post of head of board of BTA Bank in connection with transfer to managing post to Bank TuranAlem.

Shareholders also decided not to pay dividends by results of year 2006. "all income received will be directed on development of bank", - is said in the message.

M.Ablyazov in 1991-1997 years was the president of Astana-holding JSC, then the president of national company of Kazakhstan for managing the electric networks KEGOC, in 1998-1999 years he leaded the ministry of energy, industry and trade of Kazakhstan, since July 2000 had taken the post of chairman of board of directors of Kazakhstan Temirbank, since October 2003 was the president of Investment-Industrial group Eurasia, since May 2005 till present is the chairman of Board of directors of bank TuranAlem.

Zh.Yerayev in years 1995-1996 had entered the staff of board and headed the daughter of Russian Alfa-bank in Kazakhstan, in years 1996-2002 had worked in Kazakhstan Alliance Bank, for the last time he headed Financial corporation Seymar alliance JSC.

A.Ageyev is working in financial-banking sphere since year 1994, for the last time he had been the first deputy chairman of Board of financial corporation Seymar Alliance JSC.А

BTA Bank was founded in year 1992, is the strategic partner of Bank TuranAlem. According to data if bank, as of April 1, 2007 its largest shareholder had been Company for assets management SPG Assets Management LLC (18.9%).

In May 2007 Anti-monopoly committee of Ukraine permitted bank TuranAlem to purchase more than 50% of shares of BTA Bank.

Bank TuranAlem by results of year 2006 had taken 5th place among banks of CIS and 2nd place among banks of Kazakhstan according to volume of assets in the ranking Interfax-1000, prepared by Interfax-CEA. BTA Bank had taken in this ranking the 666th place among banks of CIS and 109th place among banks of Ukraine.
