KazakhGold increased the extraction of gold 3.5 times in year 2006 to 219.800 ounces

/REUTERS, Moscow, Anastasiya Teterevleva, February 14, 07/ - Kazakhstan gold-extracting company KazakhGold in year 2006 increased the extraction of gold by 244% to 219.853 ounces, is said in the message of the company. By the totals of the fourth quarter the volume of extraction made 45.986 ounces. Extraction on the three key fields of the company in Northern Kazakhstan - Aksu, Bestobe and Zholybmet - in the fourth quarter turned out to be lower than forecasts because of sudden cold spell in November and December, is said in the release. In year 2006 KazakhGold had processed 4.68 m. tons of ore with average contents of gold in the ore 1.92 grams per ton. Company did not explained the reasons of such sudden increase of volumes of extraction and did not give the comparative data for the last year. [2007-02-15]
