Representative list of KASE_Shares Index by the moment of closing of trades in shares on KASE on October 11, 2006
/IRBIS, Assel Omarova, October 11, 06/ - Information agency of financial markets IRBIS (Almaty) publishes representative list of KASE_Shares Index in the table given below by the moment of closing of trades in shares on Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE) on October 11, 2006.
The list is published due to accordance to KASE of Exploration Production KazMunayGas JSC on October 10, 2006 an extract from registers system of shareholders as of October 5, 2006, in which results of company's IPO, conducted at the end of September, are taken into account. On the basis of obtained extract at calculation of KASE_Shares index the number of common shares of Exploration Production KazMunayGas JSC (KZ1P51460114, RDGZ) has been increased up to 70,220,935 from 47,134,144.

By the moment of making the aforementioned table from 43 shares, included into KASE's official "А" listing category, 41 share instruments were in the representative list for KASE_Shares Index calculation.
NOTES TO TABLE
KASE_Shares Index of shares reflects change of prices parameters of shares of KASE's official "А" listing category, registered in the open market of KASE within the day, counting on the level of market capitalization of their issuers. The method of index calculation is regulated by internal document of KASE "Method of stock exchange's indicators calculation", which is available at see more
Code of shares reflects: code of the issuer of security, traded on KASE (the first 4 symbols, the same - code of common share); category of share (if the fifth symbol - "p", share is preferred); number of shares issue (if deemed as necessary, the sixth figure symbol).
Price, tenge per a share - price parameter of a share, which is used for KASE_Shares Index calculation. This is the maximum price of limited bid for purchase of a share (i.e. quotation of demand), submitted to KASE's trade system under trades holding by method of continuous counter auction and active trade session at the moment of day closing, on the date of which representative list is being made, or maximum price of a share that very day on deals, made in KASE's trade system by one of the methods of open trading. Under comparison of demand quotations and prices of deals preference is given to maximum value. At that, data of purchase-and-sale of shares sector in the KASE's secondary market are taken into account.
Quantity of shares - parameter, which is determined by KASE as a difference between the number of announced shares and the number of shares on issuing and reissuing accounts of the issuer (including nominal holding), and also shares, which according to data of nominal holder are in the ownership of the issuer. KASE takes into consideration value of quantity of paid shares under KASE_Shares Index calculation, which is proved by available documents on KASE. Therefore, actual number of paid shares on the date of KASE_Shares Index calculation may differ from used one on KASE. In accordance with Listing Regulation the companies, whose securities are included into KASE's official list, are obliged, at present, to submit excerpts from register system of shareholders to stock exchange at the beginning of each calendar quarter. Each excerpt is processed by KASE either the day of receiving or the following working day. However, many issuers submit excerpts on the date fixed in it with deep delay (from several days till several months). It should be noted that value of the number of paid shares KASE renews in its databases not on the date of making excerpt from register, but on the date of receiving of this excerpt by stock exchange (more accurate to say, to the date of its processing by stock exchange). Shortcomings of this method are evident. However, application of another method is not deemed as possible as KASE calculates this capitalization index and KASE_Shares Index daily and cannot recalculate these indexes by back date.
Share, % - value equals to proportion of product of parameters "Price, tenge per a share" and "Quantity of shares", given in the table for one share, to the sum of products of specified parameters for all shares of representative list, expressed in percentage. Index allows evaluating "weight" of each share in representative list in calculated value of KASE_Shares Index. From mentioned shares in the table one can see that change of value and number of paid common shares of SNPS - Aktobemunaygas JSC influences on KASE_Shares Index mostly, and preferred shares of BANK CASPIAN JSC the least. For clearness the table of representative list of KASE_Shares Index is sorted out by IRBIS by descending order of this index.
Accumulated share, % - cumulated presentation of an index "Share", allowing to judge, for example, about that value of KASE_Shares Index by 53.2% is formed by parameters of all three shares - AMGZ, RDGZ and BTAS.
