/IRBIS, Yelena Korpusenko, November 17, 05/ - Kazakhtelecom JSC (Astana), whose shares are traded in the official "A" listing category of Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE), today spread press release, which says about realization of rural territories development state program. Within this program Kazakhtelecom JSC at present moment in 7.5 th. rural settlements installed telephones. As a result in the republic installation of telephones in villages today exceeded 86%.

First region with 100% installation of telephones became Atyrau oblast. Here, press release says, in 2005 in 67 left villages telephones were installed. Today all 196 rural settlements of Atyrau oblast have telephone connection, and all 196 high schools of the region have access to Internet. For these purposes nearly KZT135 m. are invested.

Totally there are 7863 high schools in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Percent of telephone installation in these schools is 86%. Opportunity to use access service to the world net has 81% of all schools of the republic. Majority of these schools (96% or 6123) use access services in Internet of Kazakhtelecom company.

Kazakhtelecom JSC also informed, that in development of telecommunications in rural area, the company invested in 2005 nearly KZT1.2 bn.
